Reconnecting with Yourself
Psychotherapy for healing, growth, and new possibilities

Space to Reconnect  ~begin your inner Journey to Connect with your wisdom~
Life experiences, relationships, trauma, and cultural transitions can sometimes leave us feeling disconnected from ourselves. Psychotherapy can offer a space to slow down, understand what you are carrying, and reconnect with your emotions, values, and sense of direction. I provide psychotherapy/counselling in English and Japanese for adults, youth, children, couples, and families. Sessions are available In-Person in Burnaby office, and Online.

You may be Looking for Support with...

Trauma and the Impact of the Past
Understanding how past experiences continue to affect your emotions, relationships, and sense of safety.

Anxiety and Emotional Overwhelm
Support with anxiety, low mood, stress, self-criticism, and emotions that feel difficult to manage.

Identity and Cross-Cultural Experience
Exploring identity, belonging, migration, cultural expectations, and the experience of living between cultures.

Relationships and Life Transitions
Support through relationship difficulties, parenting, grief, separation, career changes, and other life transitions.

How I work
Therapy begins with conversation and a respectful, collaborative relationship. Together, we explore your experiences, emotions, relationships, and the patterns that may be shaping your present life. Depending on your needs and preferences, sessions may also include attention to the body, mindfulness, imagery, play, and expressive arts. These approaches are always offered as possibilities rather than requirements.

Your story and Relationships
Through conversation, we explore your experiences with curiosity and compassion. The therapeutic relationship offers a space where you can be heard, understood, and supported without judgment.

Body and Nervous System
Emotions and past experiences are held not only in our thoughts, but also in the body. We may pay attention to sensations, emotional responses, and what helps you feel more grounded and regulated.

Expressive Arts and Imagination
At times, words may not fully express what you are experiencing. Images, colour, metaphor, movement, play, and creative expression can offer another way to explore and understand your inner experience.

About Youki
I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor based in Burnaby, BC. I provide psychotherapy in English and Japanese for adults, youth, children, couples, and families. My approach is relational, trauma-informed, body-aware, and creative. I seek to understand each person within the context of their relationships, life experiences, culture, and community—not simply through symptoms or diagnoses. Having lived and studied in Japan, Korea, the United States, and Canada, I bring particular sensitivity to cultural identity, migration, belonging, and the experience of living between cultures.
I believe that therapy is not only about healing pain and emotional wounds. It is also a process of reconnecting with the strengths, values, and possibilities that have always been within us, even when they have become difficult to see or access.
